CHSS Graduate Convocation

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences Graduate Convocation will take place on Thursday, May 15, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. in the Center for the Arts on the Fairfax Campus. Details about the event can be found on the college's Graduate Convocation site. All master's and doctoral recipients should plan to arrive no later than 6:20 p.m. to line up.

All doctoral recipients who intend to participate in the convocation must submit an RSVP to the CHSS Dean's Office no later than Friday, April 25, 2008. RSVP's are not required for master's recipients.

Dean's Challenge Award Winner George Fachner

At age 20, George Fachner enrolled in community college. He went on to complete a bachelor’s degree from Baruch College in New York. Today he is a master’s candidate in Mason’s Justice, Law, and Crime Policy program and was a 2007 recipient of the Dean’s Challenge Award, a fellowship of $2,000. Fachner, who dropped out of high school at age 17, is now actively planning to pursue a doctoral degree. Read More >>
